How we Worship

The Irish call them “thin places, “places where the distance between God and the world is very small. The Orthodox tradition decorates its churches with domes (which display heaven) and icons (showing the saints who still remain among us) because it is at worship where God’s world intersects with our world.

Each week through the liturgy, through the hymns, through the reading of the Scriptures, through the Eucharist and the preaching, we hope that you may experience St Mark as one of those “thin places,” a place where the distance between you and God is made small.

Having experienced the presence of God, having had the opportunity to be strengthened by worshipping together with friends, we are sent back into the world as God’s people, people who display the glory of God to the world.

We hope you have the opportunity to come and worship with us soon!
