At St Mark, our faith calls us to action. We are deeply committed to serving our neighbors, both near and far, through a wide variety of ministries and outreach programs. Below you will find opportunities to learn more about each mission and discover how you can get involved. Every act of service, big or small, makes a difference.
Global & National Outreach
Our commitment to service extends far beyond our local community, providing care and support to those in difficult circumstances across the country and the world.
Helping Ukrainian People
Join our efforts to provide relief and support for those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
China Outreach
Funding life-altering surgeries and supporting orphan care facilities for children in China.
Lutheran Immigration & Refugee Service
Partnering with LIRS to welcome and support refugees and immigrants as they build new lives.
Adopt-a-Child, Ecuador
Sponsor a child at the Refugio in Quito, providing them with meals, education, and medical care.
Local Community Support
We are called to love our neighbors, and that begins right here in our own community. Explore the ways we provide direct support to those in need on the Peninsula.
PORT Homeless Ministry
Providing emergency winter shelter, meals, and support for our unhoused neighbors in Newport News.
Challenger League Baseball
An inclusive baseball program for youth with mental and physical challenges, where every player shines.
Fellowship & Crafting Groups
Connecting with one another is central to our life at St Mark. These groups offer wonderful opportunities for fellowship, creativity, and service.
Knitters & Crocheters
Crafting with purpose, this group creates prayer shawls, blankets, and other items for those in need.
Quilters Guild
Weaving stories and crafting memories, our quilters create beautiful works of art and comfort.
Dorcas Circle
A vibrant group of women who meet monthly for fellowship, insightful discussions, and meaningful service.
SMLC Spirit Walkers
Join us for a weekly walk at the Yorktown Battlefield for devotion, fellowship, and fresh air.
Scouting America
We proudly charter Cub Scout Pack 595 and Scouts BSA Troop 306, fostering leadership and character.
