Celebrate the holidays with a festive concert by the Williamsburg Choral Guild featuring Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria. Hear this Baroque choral classic plus works by Holst, Mendelssohn, Wilberg, and others accompanied by strings and organ.  December 15, 2024, 4 PM at St Mark Lutheran Church, 118 Old York-Hampton Hwy, Yorktown, VA 23692.  Tickets are $20/person – available at the door or online. Established in 1975, the Williamsburg Choral Guild is a mixed voice SATB all-volunteer chorus that presents three or more major concerts each season. The Guild enjoys the enthusiastic support of the community as it fulfills its mission to bring magnificent choral music to the Greater Williamsburg area.  Now in his second season the Guild is directed by Dr. Daniel Parks.

Doors open at 3:00 pm. A pre-concert lecture begins at 3:30.
Dr. Parks’ pre-concert lecture is included in the ticket price.

St Mark Lutheran Church and Sine Nomine presents . . . The Virginia Handbell Consort under the direction of Mr. Al Reese on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 5:00 PM.  St Mark Lutheran Church is located at 118 Old York-Hampton Highway, Yorktown, VA 23692.

The Virginia Handbell Consort  is celebrating over 20 years of sharing the joy of ringing.  They return to St. Mark for a program of holiday music.  The program, Tidings We Ring, will feature “something for everyone!”  The program will feature traditional arrangements of holiday favorites as well as original arrangements by maestro Al Reese.  Begin your Advent season with this festive program, and usher in the holiday season. 

The Virginia Handbell Consort is comprised of auditioned musicians performing on over five octaves of Schulmerich bells, five and a half octaves of Melody Chimes, three octaves of Petit and Fritsen bells, and other percussion instruments.   

The program is free and open to the public.  Donations will be accepted to help support the concert series.  Following the program members of the audience will have an opportunity to meet and talk with Mr. Reese, members of the ensemble, and purchase recordings.  Call 898-4395 for additional information.
